FREQUENTLY asked QUESTIONS
How do I get started?
Glad you asked! Request a free 15 minute phone consult and we'll have a casual conversation to see if we're a good fit. No paperwork, no pressure. Just two people talking. To get started, request a free consult here.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
All sessions are virtual, which can work really well for busy parents. You can do this from your couch, your car, or wherever you can steal 50 minutes of quiet. No commute, no waiting room, no finding a babysitter just to get there.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I'm currently in network with Aetna and United Healthcare. If you're not sure whether your plan covers therapy, your insurance company can tell you in about five minutes over the phone.
How much does counseling cost?
If you're not using Aetna or United Healthcare, individual sessions are $155 for 50 minutes. If cost is a concern, bring it up during the consult and we can talk through your options.
What kind of parents do you see?
Moms, dads, seasoned parents, new parents, single parents. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent affirming, and striving to be anti-racist. I especially love working with cycle breakers, those who are determined to change generational patterns and create something healthier for their family.
Do you offer couples counseling?
Not at the moment. My focus right now is individual therapy for parents. If couples counseling is something you're looking for I'm happy to point you toward someone great.
What should I expect in my first session?
The first session is casual and conversational. We'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and a little bit of your history. There's no script and no pressure to have everything figured out before you walk in. Most people leave the first session feeling relieved they finally did it.
What is a good faith estimate and how can it help me understand my healthcare costs?
A Good Faith Estimate provides an itemized breakdown of expected charges for healthcare services if you are uninsured or not using insurance. It's designed to give you a clear idea of what you can expect to pay. For more information, please see the full details of Good Faith Estimate regulations.
